More than 50 years of service!
Originally named Brewster Memorial Hospital in 1957, Big Bend Regional Medical Center (BBRMC) has experienced considerable change but continues to provide the same commitment to care for people in the tri-county area. Like most things, BBRMC was born from need—in this case, the need for a healthcare facility closer than Pecos to have a baby, treat a heart attack or care for a snakebite. In short, quality acute care medicine that’s close by.
Formerly located at 801 E. Brown St., BBRMC moved to a brand-new facility at North Highway 118 in October 1999. Our desire to provide quality care for our friends and neighbors has never changed.
Raising Awareness - One Neighborhood at a Time
Our community has always been active when it comes to the hospital. In the past, Gene Hendryx (“The Ol’ Sarge”) hosted radiothons and wrote passionate letters and editorials to raise capital funds; our local community fundraisers, bake sales and endowments helped us purchase our first CT scanner. Today, we continue to be vocal about ensuring we’re the area’s healthcareprovider of choice.
We're More Than Just a Hospital
In addition to our healthcare services, BBRMC is a major community event sponsor for Trappings of Texas, the Air Show, Project Graduation, Fourth of July celebrations, the SRSU Rodeo and countless other events. We believe in giving back to the community who supported us for so many years.
BBRMC and the community have come a long way and we’ve come through it together. That’s the reason we’re here. We’re not “the hospital.” We’re your hospital.
