Pregnancy & Newborns Pregnancy is an exciting time for parents-to-be. Use this information to help you make informed decisions from conception through delivery.

Your Newborn Baby Sleeping, eating, crying, cooing—your new arrival will keep you busy. You'll soon figure out his or her patterns and preferences.

Pregnancy is an exciting time filled with expectation and preparation. We want your baby's birth to be a rewarding experience. At Big Bend we offer the following services:

• Two labor and delivery rooms, fully-equipped with recently updated equipment.
• epidural anesthesia / spinal anesthesia
• Fetal heart monitoring (internal and external)
• Newborn care
• Neonatal stabilization
• Free childbirth orientation classes
• Nonstress testing
• Rooming-in services
• Newborn hearing screening
• Pediatric basic life support taught to parents as needed

Basic staff training includes Basic Fetal Monitor Interpretation, Basic Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation. Advanced Staff training includes Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Childbirth Education.

Childbirth Education Classes

Childbirth education classes are available at BBRMC. These classes are designed for women who will give birth at the hospital. You’re given a tour and introduced to the staff, and the admitting process is explained to you—all so your birthing experience will be more enjoyable. Sign up for a class by calling 432-837-0270.

Big Bend Regional's Online Nursery

Access photos of our latest deliveries through our web nursery. Parental permission is required to view the photos of these bundles of joy, so be sure to ask the new parents about this service.
